The Wait for 5 Guys Burgers in Montclair is Almost Over – Really!
Sources today confirmed that the much anticipated arrival – and opening – of the 5 Guys Burgers on Valley Road in Upper Montclair is finally near.
The spot, which has looked like it is ready to open for business, has surprised passersby, since a ‘coming soon’ sign has been hanging for months. The site, if you walk by, has been empty for almost the entire summer.
However, now that details have been ironed out, the 5 Guys spot should be open by October 1.
What the holdup was is a bit of a mystery, but sources have reported to thejerseytomtopress.com that a few issues did stall opening the restaurant.
One problem was the sound, since the eating area plays loud music, the upstairs tenants were none too thrilled. In that building, a flight above the restaurant, a few firms that require peace and quiet experienced the sound and vibrations of music.
Mountain Wall Massage therapist, Edward Jones, a psychologist and Chyten Educational Services all have space directly above the new 5 Guys spot.
One tenant said the floor was “supposed to be sound proofed, but it’s not”.
Executives from the corporate offices in Virginia have visited twice, and were reported to be concerned with the delays.
Another issue arose when the landlord moved trash bins. On the original blueprint shown to the 5 Guys owners, trash bins were located in one area, near the Jaffa Jems rear entrance. However, when the store complained, and the landlord moved the trash bins, the 5 Guys tenants were upset. According to sources, the 5 Guys tenants said they had not been notified about the trash bins being moved.
Now, with all the issues resolved, it’s time for 5 Guys to swing open their doors and let the public in to what is called a delicious experience.
Also, expect to see the Beauty Bar open in two weeks. Upper Montclair will now have 2 new merchants on the block.
Also new will be handicapped access to the building next door, 622 Valley Road. The landlord is installing it. 3 new parking spots will be added in the back lot, directly behind the building that houses the 5 Guys spot. However, no access to the dumpster will be available so the township is working on making the dumpster accessible to the tenants.
Welcome to all!
