Professional Background: Melissa is a freelance travel writer who has been active in the travel industry for more than a dozen years. Her career includes editorial positions at both Frommer’s and Fodor’s travel guides - the two industry leaders. She has developed and written upwards of three dozen travel guides for destinations ranging from South Florida to Southern Africa. Her writing has appeared in Brides, Modern Bride, Islands, Travel Agent, Luxury Travel Advisor, and Family Travel Network, among others. She is the winner of The Lowell Thomas Travel Gold Award for excellence in travel writing.
