Description:
TheStreet.com, a leading multimedia provider of financial news, analysis and commentary, is seeking a managing editor for its flagship Web site. We combine a real-time approach to breaking news with a magazine style for in-depth reporting, and are looking for a manager who can do it all. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of finance and investing along with a broad understanding of key industries and markets. As a multimedia organization, we expect our managers to be skilled in a variety of story-telling formats, from articles to videos to slideshows and podcasts. This is a key position in our news organization and we need someone who will steer coverage to find the best angles that will appeal to the most readers, determine which stories get the most play and resources, oversee long-term planning and work with editors and reporters to set the tone for the newsroom.
Applicants should have 3-5 years worth of management experience, at least 10 years in financial journalism and a bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in journalism, finance or business. Salary is competitive with experience.
